SAMSUNG E&A, a total solutions provider for the global energy industry, has published the '2024 Sustainability Report' containing the direction and strategy for Net Zero, Energy Transition, and Technology Innovation established for sustainable growth. This is the fourteenth year of publication.

In this report, you can see the five material topics based on SAMSUNG E&A’s ESG strategy framework. SAMSUNG E&A established its own ESG strategy framework last year to strengthen its sustainable management execution capabilities. This year’s report is based on this strategy framework and therefore contains the entire content, especially the sustainable management performance and activities for the five material topics (△ Transition to Low-carbon Business, △Eco-friendly Technology Innovation, △Climate Change response, △Strengthening Safety and Health and △Ethical management).

SAMSUNG E&A has been working to overcome the global climate crisis and achieve net zero. Starting with the goal of achieving net zero by 2050 and using 100% renewable energy by 2030, established in 2022, we are promoting energy efficiency at all Korean and overseas sites through ISO 50001 certification, the international standard for energy management systems, and are making various efforts such as converting business in Korea to zero-emission vehicles, green premium, and purchasing renewable energy certificates. In particular, we have expanded the use of renewable energy at overseas business sites such as in Thailand, Hungary, and Mexico by purchasing renewable energy certificates. In addition, we are systematically integrating the management of greenhouse gas emissions generated at all Korean and overseas sites by upgrading our self-developed Samsung Environmental Energy Management System (SEEM-S*).

In addition, this report also reveals SAMSUNG E&A’s E&Able and AHEAD strategies that pursue both sustainable management and addressing societal challenges based on energy transition projects and technological innovation. E&Able is an energy transition and eco-friendly solution centered on E&Able Low (low carbon), E&Able Zero (zero carbon), and E&Able Circle (environment), while AHEAD is an innovative solution that further strengthens the EPC execution system based on technologies such as DT (digital transformation), automation, and AI (artificial intelligence).

Further, it also details the latest achievements and activities in each ESG field, such as expanding investment in eco-friendly technology companies (environment), enhancing employee diversity through the ‘global mobility’ program (social), and shareholder return policies (governance).

Hong Namkoong, President and CEO of SAMSUNG E&A, said, “We will continue to communicate transparently with stakeholders through sustainable management activities,” and “We will take the lead in resolving social issues such as the climate crisis by advancing sustainable strategies and innovation.”
